All teacher candidates planning to complete in-service student teaching must complete the initial full-time student teaching application.

To be eligible for in-service student teaching a teacher candidate must:
hold a bachelor’s degree.
have Regular Admission status with the Education Department at PUC.
complete ALL requirements for a teaching credential other than full-time student teaching and the related student teaching seminar.
have the approval and recommendation of the Education Department faculty.
hold a legal full-time teaching contract at the level of the credential s/he is earning.
have the approval and support of the school principal and local superintendent to do in-service student teaching.
be provided with an ON-SITE MENTOR who holds a valid teaching credential, has at least 3 years of recent teaching experience, possesses the professional characteristics and expertise to serve as a mentor, is CLAD-certified (public schools only), and has completed required mentor training.
This form should be used by the employer of a Pacific Union College credential candidate requesting in-service student teaching to fulfill the regular student teaching requirement.
The form is to be filled out by the school principal and submitted to the local school district superintendent for approval.
The superintendent should then forward the original request to the Director of Field Experience in the Education Department at Pacific Union College by the request deadlines given below.
