The school uses Targeted and Equity Funding supplied by the MInistry of Education to run programmes and groups designed to assist our students to excel as well as to reduce the 'Long Tail' in education. Pt England has a long history of reviewing these programmes and reporting their performance to our Board of Trustees annually, as a way of deciding whether to keep or alter the programme. Pt England has also been privileged to work in partnership with other providers:
ATWC who employ our wonderful Social Worker in School
TCDT who employ our Family Workers and boys' Mentor
Starship Health who employ our Nurses and Health Social Worker
Mauri Tuituia who employ our part time Art Therapist
Ka Ora Ka Ako and Colin, our School Lunch Provider
These programmes represent a considerable resource directed at learning and teaching and have been significant contributors to the on-going success of our school. It has been great for the school to finally have an uniterrupted year. It has still been hard work though, as we've reflected on what we've learned, responded to the changed world we occupy, figured out what to keep or change and faced the challenges of children and families deeply affected by 4 years of interruptions and moving into a period of rapid change introduced by the crown. This is reflected in the various reports for 2024.
We wish to thank and congratulate all those who have contributed to the lives of children through these programmes this year. 'Ko to rourou ko taku rourou ka ora ai te iwi'.
