14 November 2025 — The Faculty of Science, Prince of Songkla University, hosted a seminar titled “Introduction to Carbon Markets and Career Opportunities” under the Supporting Preparedness for Article 6 Cooperation (SPAR6C) initiative. The Opening Ceremony was officiated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wirote Youravong, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Affairs, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pimonsri Mittraparp-arthorn, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and International Relations, PSU.

The program featured a lecture on international carbon markets under the Paris Agreement and the Thai context by Dr. Allison Jay Sterling from UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre and Dr. Chonticha Nithitsuttibuta, National Expert for SPAR6C. A panel discussion on climate change, carbon markets, and career opportunities brought together Prof. Dr. Anchana Prathep, Dean, Faculty of Science,  Dr. Allison Jay Sterling, and Ms. Chawanrat Trivimol, alumni of the RMP under SPAR6C, moderated by Dr. Piyamit Toumsri. The event concluded with an introduction to the Research Mentorship Program (RMP) and closing remarks by the Dean of the Faculty of Science.
