PSU campus in Hat Yai is one of the biggest university campuses in Southern Thailand. Therefore there is a whole bunch of different facilities with several activities for everyone. Here, we introduce you to some of them.

PSU Sports Complex and Swimming pool

The PSU Sports Complex provides a place for a lot of different sport activities, for example courts for tennis, basketball, badminton, volleyball, multi-purpose playing fields, a fully-equipped gym, areas for aerobics, Tai Chi and Yoga classes.

Yoga classes and other types of sporting activities are available in several buildings around the campus.

The entrance to the Sports Complex is free, whereas you have to pay 50 THB for the gym.

PSU Hat Yai also has a swimming pool in olympic size, for your swimming session you pay 80 THB.

 

Libraries

Libraries are necessary for many students to use a wide range of literature for research and learning, PSU is managing six main libraries: two of them are on Hat Yai Campus. Both libraries provide several different services to staff and students. The one most important for students of the Faculty of Science is:

Khunying Long Athakravisunthorn Learning Resources Center

The university’s central library on Hat Yai campus, is right next to the Faculty of Science. The library provides a large collection of English language reading material. Also many e-books and e-journals are available. For more information visit https://clib.psu.ac.th/

Banking Facilities

Next to the President’s Office Building is the Siam Commercial Bank (SCB, Tel: 0 7 428 2970). At the Songkla Nakarin Hospital is also a small branch of Bangkok Bank.

ATMs are available at many different places on the campus.

Canteens and Food Facilities

The campus comes up with a lot of different food places. Two big canteens are the Hospital Cafeteria, located in the basement of the Songkla Nakarin Hospital, and the central canteen Rong Chang (Elephant Canteen) near the Sports Complex. The Hospital Cafeteria opens from early morning until late afternoon, and the central canteen opens from early morning to about nine in the evening. Besides, most faculties have their own food centers and coffee shops. Sritrang Food Center is situated off campus near the University Gate 109, on the south side of the campus. A variety of Thai, Chinese, and Muslim food is normally available in all these centers.


An Organic Market is also available in the evenings on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. It is located close to Gate 109. You can buy fresh, organic goods like fruit, vegetables, fish and seafood. Also available are many different snacks and ready-to-eat foods.
