12 December 2025 — In collaboration with the International Peace Foundation, Prince of Songkla University has had the honor of welcoming Nobel Laureate Professor Sir Christopher Pissarides to deliver a special lecture on our campus. The university was represented by Prof. Dr. Sanit Aksornkoae, Chairman of PSU Council; Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, PSU President; Asst. Prof. Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs; along with administrators from the Faculty of Science, Faculty of Economics, and Faculty of Engineering.

On the topic of “Employment and skills in the age of AI”, Professor Pissarides, who was awarded with the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 2010,  delivered a lecture to students and staff from the Hat Yai, Pattani and Trang campuses, as well as high school students, representatives from the Bank of Thailand, and members of the public at the L1 Room, Pradit Cheuychit Lecture Center (Pumpkin Building), Faculty of Science.
