Writers edit and make their writing easy to read for their audience. They can do this by thinking, "Does this make sense? Is my writing clear for my readers?" Writers reread and edit for:

• Spelling
• Punctuation
• Capitalization
• Phonics Principles (See Phonics Tab!) Phonics

Writers should be independently writing for at least 20 minutes following the daily focus being explored. We kindly ask that children complete 1-2 full writing pieces throughout the week.
