We kindly encourage our young readers to keep their reading life in fiction texts lively, by spending additional time with fiction texts that are just right for them. Students should spend at least 20 minutes reading their fiction books.
Today's Focus: Lesson Learned
As readers, we can track the lesson or lessons characters learn throughout the book. As you're reading, think about what lesson your character or characters are learning. Today when you're done reading, think about what your characters are learning. Why do you think that? What happened in the book that helped your character learn that. Try to do a 4-start jot!
