In this section we will cover everything you can do at home to have a little fun with the family. So that includes everything from cooking to the latest videos/games to check out.
This week, we are going to keep it simple and go over how to make a household essential drink especially on these cold nights. Hot Chocolate. That's right! We are not talking about some instant hot chocolate mix, we are talking about gourmet hot chocolate that you can make from home and impress everyone! It is also a perfect drink for a movie night or just to have by your side when playing a game of your choice.
Ingredients:
Hot Chocolate
2 cups of milk
2 Tablespoons of Cocoa Powder
2 Tablespoons of Sugar
1/2 cup of chocolate chips
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
2 Tablespoons of Heavy Cream
Whipped Cream
1/2 Cup of Heavy Cream
1 Tablespoon of sugar
Turn on the stove top to medium heat and add a 1/2 cup of milk to the pot. Constantly stir to keep the milk from burning until the milk is simmering. Once simmering, add the cocoa powder and stir until there are no more lumps. Once combined, add remaining milk and the sugar. You may add more or less sugar depending on your preference. Add in the chocolate chips and stir until the chocolate has melted into the mixture. Once melted, add vanilla and heavy cream and stir. After stirring turn off the stove and remove the pot from the heat, the hot chocolate is ready to serve.
To make whipped cream to pair with the hot chocolate, you will need a mixing bowl, chilled in the fridge to make the whisking easier. Add the heavy cream and sugar to the chilled bowl and begin whisking. It may take awhile, but you are trying to get to stiff peaks for good texture. Once you are finished whisking you can add vanilla or other spices to the cream for additional flavor.
This recipe will make enough for 2 cups or 2 people.
Here is also a video of me and my wife making it for a visual reference, if it helps!
Hope those of you who tried it out, enjoyed it!
Also in other news, for those of you with a PS4, Sony is giving out 2 free games to help keep you busy. The Uncharted Trilogy and Journey are the two games so if any of you guys have the consoles and are interested, I would recommend checking that out!
Have a great week at home!
