Meet Powell. Powell was a twelve year old kid with a pretty much normal life, until he found a crashed car on his way back from school. He went over to the car and helped the man inside. The man said that his name was Tommy and he gave Powell some glowing rocks, one red, one blue, one green, one purple, one yellow, and one orange. Powell turned back around and said thank you but by then Tommy was already gone so he just went home and said hi to his mom Abigail.
He went upstairs to his room and added the rocks to his rock collection but then he felt a little buzz when he touched them. “It tickles,” he thought, so he decided to ask his mom if she knew who Tommy was, she said no so he went back upstairs. He started reading but he couldn't stop thinking about Tommy and those weird stones. Soon his Mom called him for dinner and he went downstairs to eat. He asks his mom if she knew what the rocks were. His Mom said “You and your rocks, no but you can use the computer wh-” She got interrupted halfway through her sentence.
Powell said thank you and went to the computer. He looked all over the internet but he couldn't find them anywhere. He went back to the crashed car to find Tommy to ask him what the rocks were but when he got there he couldn't find Tommy or the crashed car for that matter. On his way back home he kept thinking about where Tommy and the car went. He was really tired when he got back home so he went to bed.
Powell woke up and realized that it was one thirty already and he promised his Mom that he would go shopping with her on Saturday, so he got up and got dressed. He grabbed the orange rock but he didn't know why, then he went downstairs, and luckily his Mom is still here.
“You ready to go shopping, Mom?”
“Finally, you’re awake. I was about to leave without you. Grab a waffle and you can eat it on our way to Village Square Mall.”
“Thanks Mom, you’re the best.”
When they got to the mall, Powell asked, “So, where do you want to go, Mom?”
“I was thinking, maybe we could get some ice cream.”
“Yay! Really?”
“Yeah, let’s go.”
Powell got a feeling that they should go the long way instead, so he says “Let’s go the long way instead.”
“Ok, sure, but why?” his mom asks.
“I don’t know, but let’s go.”
They got their ice cream and went home. Later that day, they were watching the seven o’clock news: “Village Square Mall ceiling collapsed at two P.M.”
“We were there at two. Luckily we didn't go that way. How did you know not to go that way?” his Mom asks.
“Intuition.” says Powell knowing it had something to do with the rock. He didn't know what exactly the rock had done, so he decided to sleep on it.
