Response Inhibition - The power to resist the urge to say or do something – think before you act.
Working Memory - The ability to hold information in mind for the purpose of completing tasks. The ability to deal with emotions so that they don’t get in the way of completing tasks or achieving goals.
Sustained Attention - The ability to hold attention in a situation, even if the task is not interesting or distractions are present.
Task Initiation - The ability to start a task at the appropriate time without delay or procrastination.
Planning/Prioritizing - The ability to create a plan to complete a task or develop an approach to achieving a goal. This includes making decisions about what to direct attention towards.
Organization - The ability to create and maintain a system for keeping track of information.
Time Management- The sense that “time” is an important concept, the ability to accurately estimate how much time you have.
Goal-Directed Persistence - The ability to follow through to complete tasks and achieve goals.
Flexibility – The ability to adapt your responses, behaviors, and plans when necessary and as conditions change.
Metacognition- The ability to assess your own performance during or after finishing a task (How am I doing? How did I do?)
I've developed some executive functioning goal progress monitoring. You will take an initial survey and then your parents and teachers will take the survey to assess your skills. From there, we'll develop a goal plan to give you improved skills to be a successful student and citizen.
