Two theories that explain the "Why" and the "How" we use technology in the classroom.

TPACK is the framework which helps answer the question to "WHY" we use technology in the classroom. Understating the interplay among the three areas of TPACK (Technological, Pedagogical and Content Knowledge) allows teachers to plan, create, and develop effective lessons. This chart is designed to help teachers decide what tech tool(s) they should use to support the instructional activity in their classrooms.

This is the answer to the question of "HOW" we use technology in the classroom. SAMR (Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition) allows the teacher to plan for the effective use of technology by matching it to the lesson objective. How you use the technology can change the impact and outcome of the lesson.

Blended Learning is an instructional approach that combines face-to-face learning with digital online media. The traditional classroom is transformed into a learning environment, where the teacher uses direct instruction, as well as independent and collaborative learning. This is accomplished by using 21st Century technology and skills.
