Project Based Learning

Project-Based Learning is a great way for students to use a variety of 21st Century tools and skills. This course pedagogical practice of Problem-Based Learning and provide resources for your classroom.

Following the completion of this course, you will be awarded the Problem-Based Learning Badge and 10 Points.

Session 1: What is Project-Based Learning?

Project-Based Learning, is where students take their knowledge, skills, and experiences to answer a question. This instructional method allows students to explore, research and create their own solutions to a problem or question. For this session, take this defination and the following resources to complete section 1 of the the Project-Based Learning Worksheet.

Session 2: The Types of Project-Based Learning and How to Set One Up.

This part of the course will focus on the different types of Based Learning Assignments and how to set one up. There are many of them. Be sure to check out the Zombie-Based Learning Activity. After you have gone through the resources, complete section 2 of the Project-Based Learning Worksheet.

Session 3: Creating a X-BL Assignment

To earn the badge and credit for the Project-Based Learning or X-BL Assignment you must:

  1. Submit the completed Project-Based Learning Worksheet.
  2. Submit a project write up that includes:
    • what the students will be doing
    • how they will present their final created assignment
    • how the students will be graded
  3. Submit 3 examples of completed student projects
