Pitkin Leaves has been launched in response to the State of Colorado’s Family and Medical Leave Insurance Program (FAMLI) and is an expansion and/or replacement of the County’s Short-Term Disability, FMLA, and Parental Leave program.
Pitkin Leaves does not affect the Long-Term Disability benefit.

Pitkin County automatically provides long-term disability (LTD) insurance through Cigna to all eligible employees at no cost.
LTD insurance is designed to help you meet your financial needs if your disability extends beyond the Pitkin Leave period. Benefits will be reduced by other income, including state-mandated short-term disability plans.
