We have spent a LONG time working on how to operate the 3D printers and now you will start your first real art project!
Design a Key. Specifically, design a key that REPRESENTS YOU in some way; who you are, what you want, what you want to become... anything. Remember a "key" can be many different types of objects. You are not limited in this project and are free to push boundaries.
For this project, you will need BOTH images of the digital design AND pictures of the printed work.
1pt Title & Date. The work is clearly titled on your website portfolio and includes the date.
2pts Digital Images. There are 2 DIGITAL images of the work taken from different angles.
2pts IRL Images. There are 2 images of the PRINTED WORK taken from different angles.
3pts Detail. Level of detail added to key design
2pts Mastery. A lock is made that "FITS" the key you have designed

Mastery notes. For the mastery, you will need to design and print an accompanying LOCK for your key. The only requirement for this part of the assignment is the lock MUST "hold onto" the key when the lock is picked up without falling out. Your lock can take any form and use any design.
If these objects were printed as is... THEY WOULD NOT FIT
Most FDM printers are not precise enough to print parts like this and fit. You will need to ADJUST THE SIZE OF THE LOCK in order to make them fit.
My suggestion is to design the objects to match perfectly and then increase the size of your lock by 1 to 2 percent until you get a good fit. This will require multiple prints.
In the CAM software you will need to keep track of how big you scale each object THEN increase the size of the lock by typing 1.01 (1% increase) or 1.02 (2% increase)
