Instructions:
In this LONG assignment you will print your figure design SEVEN times using different settings in the CAM software.
Rubric:
10pts Images - Work includes all the 3D printed models using the correct SETTINGS and printed in the correct ORIENTATION
10pts Text - Work includes all correct definitions and the necessary information relevant to your specific model e.g. material usage, print time, etc...

You are welcome to search the internet and / or use my notes page to help find the definitions you will need to complete this assignment.
Find a picture online or take a picture of the filament roll in class.
Define what ABS filament is and its melting temperature.
Define what PLA filament is and its melting temperature.
The .vox file allows you to make edits and changes to your design BUT you will need a .stl file to import into the CAM program.
Drag and drop your .stl file into the SLICER software (or use the "plus" button to add the file)
When making changes to your object make sure you SELECT the object.
You will know when your object is selected when you see the INSPECTOR box show on the screen showing detailed information.
Open the SCALE options in the upper right hand corner and click the "1.2" scale button until your object fills most of the print bed.
Note* The Arrow at the bottom of the screen indicates the front of the print platform.
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS click the AutoPlace button on screen before you start a 3D print.
This step will ENSURE that your object is FLUSH against the print bed and prevent your print from trying to print in mid air!
For this print set the following!
Layer thickness = .3mm
No Raft = Unchecked
No Support = Unchecked
Easy to Peel = Checked
Sleep = Checked
Object Orientation = Figure MUST BE LAYING ON ITS BACK
Select the object
Click the rotate modify button
Left click the axis you want to rotate. The active axis will be hi-lighted in green.
Use the "-90" button to rotate your object
DO NOT ROTATE YOUR OBJECT BY HAND
The object is IN THE FLOOR!
Always click the AutoPlace button before you go to the settings
For this print set the following!
Layer thickness = .15mm
No Raft = Unchecked
No Support = Unchecked
Easy to Peel = Checked
Sleep = Checked
Object Orientation = Figure MUST BE STANDING UP
In the preview mode you can see lots of information about your print!
HOVER your mouse over the white circle on the right to see the NUMBER OF LAYERS
In this mode you can also see the print time and material usage.

*NOTE - Continue to the Preview and PRINT FROM THE PREVIEW WINDOW!
First your will move the right white circular slider to the LEFT. Make sure you see green, this is signifies an infill layer.
Use the "paused layer" button. The layer will turn RED.
From this Menu please use the print button on the bottom right.
PUT YOUR NAME ON THE BOARD WHEN YOU PRINT WITH A PAUSED LAYER. The printer will stay at temperature and I MUST come back and turn the printer off manually!!!!
