As we all know, current health concerns are causing many changes in our children’s lives. The best we can do is to find ways that they continue their routine one way or another. Considering this, we decided to provide ONLINE MUSIC LESSONS at PianoAlpharetta for students who are not feeling well or choose to stay home.
Although online lessons can never replace one-on-one lessons, considering the circumstances, online lessons certainly will help us continue bringing music to our children’s lives.
Here are some guidelines and procedures for online music lessons at PianoAlpharetta:
- Send us (contact@pianoalpharetta.com) whether you prefer Skype or FaceTime and provide the necessary information at least 1 hour before your regular lesson time. Please note that some of our teachers can only do Skype lessons.
- Position your device (phone, computer, tablet etc) in a way that the hands and face of the students are visible on the video
- Be ready to accept the video call at the scheduled lesson time
- Make sure that the volume is not too quiet or too loud
- Have the necessary books, assignment sheets prepared
- Your teacher might ask you to take a picture of the score and send it to us (if it is a score that only the student owns)
- For younger students, we recommend that an adult is present during online lessons
- Make sure there are no distractions (tv, siblings, etc.) during lessons
- Our teachers will direct the students every step of the way, listen to previous assignments, make corrections and give new assignments just like they do at the studio!
- Be patient. Just like everything else in music education, it takes time for students to get used to online lessons. They become more efficient and productive in time
- Feel free to send us feedback after the lessons so we can work on making your experience better
WE ENCOURAGE YOU to take advantage of the online lessons to make sure your children’s lives are not interrupted!
May you know you are making a difference, even if your children never tell you themselves.
We would be more than happy to answer any questions and provide more specific consultancy if needed.
Thank you for being a part of the PianoAlpharetta community!
