On Friday, May 8, Marian Anderson Neighborhood Academy families, community members, and university partners heard from middle school students about their inquiries into artificial intelligence (AI).
In their digital literacy classes in the Wildcat Workshop, students in grades 6-8 have been exploring some of the benefits and costs of AI. From digging into ethical and legal issues to pursuing practical and philosophical questions, students are thinking about AI and its effects on our environment, human work, human thinking, human creativity, and civic life.
Students shared what they’ve learned and what they're still wondering about through civic argumentation, demos, animation, and lightning talks.
Special thanks to Senator Saval for joining us!
