Marian Anderson Neighborhood Academy families, community members, and university partners are invited to hear from middle school students about their inquiries into artificial intelligence (AI).
In their digital literacy classes in the Wildcat Workshop, students in grades 6-8 have been exploring some of the benefits and costs of AI. From digging into ethical and legal issues to pursuing practical and philosophical questions, students are thinking about AI and its effects on our environment, human work, human thinking, human creativity, and civic life.
Students will share what they’ve learned and what they're still wondering about through civic argumentation, demos, animation, and lightning talks.
The symposium is organized in partnership with students and professors from the Philadelphia Writing Project at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education and Teacher Education Programs at Drexel University.
Community members who wish to participate should have volunteer clearances on file in accordance with School District of Philadelphia policies.
