Marian Anderson families, community members, and university partners are invited to hear from middle school students about their inquiries into artificial intelligence (AI).
Friday, May 8, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:00am
In their digital literacy classes at Marian Anderson Neighborhood Academy, students in grades 6-8 have been exploring some of the costs and benefits of artificial intelligence (AI). From digging into ethical and legal concerns to exploring practical and philosophical questions, students are thinking about AI and its effects on our environment, human work, human thinking, human creativity, and civic life.
We’re inviting families and community members to join us for a symposium in which students share what they’ve learned through civic argumentation, animation, lightning talks.
Offered part of the 10th anniversay of Remake Learning Days
Part of Marian Anderson's STEM programming in the Wildcat Workshop.
Co-planned by Marian Anderson Neighborhood Academy Supporters (MANAS).
Additionally, the symposium is organized in partnership with students and professors from the Philadelphia Writing Project at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education and Teacher Education Programs at Drexel University.
