The average sanitary towel contains about 90 % plastic- that is equivalent to about 4 plastic carrier bags. Buying or making your own sanitary pads will work out a lot cheaper, more friendly to you and the environment. They can be washed with the regular 40 washing. You can even make a little bag to wash them in.
