Communications

What is "Communications" and why?

At the end of each meeting, communications is the last portion of the body's agenda. This comes from Bylaws 87 and 88. Additionally, this represents the only business at the final meeting of each session of the UA.

87. At the close of the UA meeting there shall be Communications from each person in turn, without time limits.

88. The final meeting of each session shall be the Communications Meeting. At this meeting, there shall be no new business and each person shall give a communication to the body in a sequence determined by the Speaker.

Communications comes from a time when the UA didn't communicate. When people didn't get along and the organization faltered because of it. We cannot begin to make change together without bonding together. This is one of the most important portions of the UA. If you leave early, you left before the meeting adjourned and will be penalized a half attendance point. If we do not listen to each other, communicate with each other, and care about each other's lives, we will fail, as a body, to do the work of the student body. No one carries the UA alone; we are best when we work together.

"We must love one another or die."
