Students who plan to teach Physical Education at the secondary level should complete a degree that includes:
Requirements for physical education
Anatomy and Physiology sequence (12 credits)
PHE 325 Nutrition for Health (4 credits)
PHE 270 Basic Biomechanics (2 credits)
PHE 370 Applied Kinesiology (4 credits)
PHE 473/573 Physiology of Exercise (4 credits)
PHE 361 Care and Prevention of Injuries (4 credits)
PHE 474 Exercise Prescription and Training (4 credits)
PHE 475/575 Exercise Testing Techniques (4 credits)
PHE 340 Motor Learning (4 credits)
PHE 417 Adapted Physical Education (4 credits)
Total 58 credits
(If it is your intent to teach Physical Education at the Elementary level, it is highly recommended that you take a "PE in the Grades" course. PSU does not offer this course.)
