Biology
Students who plan to teach Biology at the middle or high school level should complete one of the two programs shown.
Students must have at least a 3.00 GPA in the recommended science courses and must earn at least a C in each course of the endorsement area.
Biology majors
Students must meet the requirements of a biology degree (including physical science courses) and biology coursework must include an introductory biology sequence and a course each in:
cell
microbiology
ecology
genetics
evolution

Biology total: 45 credits
BI 211/214, 212/215, 213/216 Principles of Biology and Lab (5, 5, 5)
BI 234, 235 Elementary Microbiology (6)
BI 334 or BI 336 Molecular or Cell Biology (4)
BI 341 Introduction to Genetics (4)
BI 357 General Ecology (4)
BI 358 Evolution (4)
Two upper division biology electives, one of which must have a lab or field component (8)
Physical science electives: 18 credits
Chemistry, physics, etc. as approved by advisor
Total: 63 credits
