SHAD (Summer 2026)

Science Department is very happy to share that four of our students attended SHAD this summer. Estelle Arita, Emily Jedeszko, Jenna Kokaly, and Alexandra Tanurkova represented Cawthra Park Secondary School at SHAD 2026, Canada’s longest‑running STEAM and entrepreneurship program offered in partnership with more than 30 leading post‑secondary institutions.

For a month, students lived on campus, collaborated with peers, and engaged in a wide range of STEAM‑focused workshops and innovation projects. They participated in hands‑on labs and team‑based problem‑solving activities that encouraged creativity, leadership, and real‑world application of scientific thinking. 

Cawthra Park Secondary School has a strong SHAD legacy, with 64 alumni who have taken part in the program over the years. It’s inspiring to see that tradition continue with this newest cohort.

Applications for SHAD 2027 are now open. Early applications close November 8, and the final deadline is January 6. 

Our science department is committed to ensuring students know about opportunities like this and will continue to share more enriching events throughout the year. 

Later in the year, we will hold a workshop to share more information about SHAD and support interested students with their application
