On October 17th, students from the grade 12 Biology classes and HOSA club went on a field trip to the Trillium HealthWorks Experience Centre, a full-scale, real-life preview of the future Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital and Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children.
During the tour, students were able to view innovative patient care spaces such as operating rooms and full-scale mock-up hospital rooms, as well as engage in discussions of design decisions and technology. Over the next decade, Trillium Health Partners will be hiring over 3000 additional staff to fill roles in the new hospital and meet the health care needs of our growing and changing community, so the students were also very excited for the opportunity to speak with current Trillium staff members about career pathways across clinical and non-clinical roles in a modern hospital.
