What is a Career Coach?

In a high school, the career coach is a unique resource dedicated to helping students discover and develop plans for their future.  A Career Coach can help students with:

• Career exploration and assessments

  • Mapping out a plan for the future – goal setting

  • Assistance with matching each student’s unique abilities and interests to a career that will compliment him/her

• Post-Secondary options

  • College exploration – both two-year and four-year; ranging from certificate programs, associate’s degree, bachelor's degrees and beyond

  • Information about the Community College System - two years for core courses and transfer to a four year school; or two years to earn a skill and transition to the workforce

• NRCC and ACCE program information

  • Help students with all aspects of the NRCC and ACCE application process:  

  • communicate all deadlines and requirements for ACCE eligibility (you MUST sign up for my Remind Account - see top or bottom of page)

• Financial Aid assistance

  • Help with frequently asked questions, setting up your FSA ID and FAFSA completion

  • Scholarship application assistance

  • Reviewing and explaining financial aid awards
