MCQs

The exam includes 55 MCQs that usually appear in sets of 3-4 questions with one or more stimuli (source).

Types of stimuli: Primary Source Document, Secondary Sources, Images, Charts & Data, and Maps

AT LEAST one question set will be a PAIRED STIMULI (always either primary or secondary sources).

Answering the MCQs requires you to BOTH analyze the stimuli and apply content knowledge.

ON AVERAGE...

you need to answer at least 27 questions (55%) correct to earn a 3 on the APUSH Exam.
you need to answer at least 39 questions (80%) correct to earn a 5 on the APUSH Exam.
