Volleyball FAQ's

When are tryouts for volleyball?

August 1, 2022 @ 7 AM at Dobie High School on Blackhawk (date is subject to change)

Is experience required?

Experience is not required, but definitely recommended. We have a very competitive program, but we do have two freshman teams that usually carry around 25.

How can I best prepare to make the volleyball team?

Attend summer work outs (a schedule will be provided to intermediate coaches) and freshman camp . Freshman camp is scheduled for July 25-July 28 from 1:00-4:00 PM at Dobie High School on Blackhawk. Cost for Freshman Camp will be $60.

What is expected of student athletes on your team?

All practices, games and other workouts are required. Our season runs from August through the end of October. We play at least two games per week and the freshman teams usually have at least one tournament. Attendance is mandatory. We have fundraisers once a semester and the girls are required to participate.

More information will be posted on the Dobie website under the volleyball section. A 2022-23 PISD physical will be required and RankOne online forms need to be filled out on rankonesport.com. NO EXCEPTIONS! A physical form can be picked up at both Dobie9 & Dobie Main in the front office beginning in April. Email Coach Sexton for an open gym sign up form. Only 15 girls can come at one time. Girls that participate in other sports are urged to tryout! Dobie girls' athletics shares athletes all the time and the coaches work well together to make sure student athletes can experience all they can during their freshman year.
