FSK20119 Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways (Release 1)

This course provides students with foundation skills development to prepare for workforce entry or vocational training pathways.

It is suitable for individuals who require:

a pathway to employment or vocational training;
reading, writing, numeracy, oral communication and learning skills at Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) Level 3;
entry level digital literacy and employability skills; and
a vocational training and employment plan.

UNITS INCLUDE:

FSKDIG003 - Use digital technology for routine workplace tasks
FSKLRG009 - Use strategies to respond to routine workplace problems
FSKLRG011 - Use routine strategies for work-related learning
FSKNUM014 - Calculate with whole numbers and familiar fractions, decimals and percentages for work
FSKNUM015 - Estimate, measure and calculate routine metric measurements for work
FSKOCM007 - Interact effectively with others at work
FSKRDG010 - Read and respond to routine workplace information
FSKWTG009 - Write routine workplace texts
FSKLRG010 - Use routine strategies for career planning
FSKOCM004 - Use oral communication skills to participate in workplace meetings
FSKRDG009 - Read and respond to routine standard operating procedures
FSKRDG008 - Read and respond to information in routine visual and graphic texts

ELIGIBILTIY FOR QUALIFICATION:

Students must undertake the list of units on the left, as well as three industry specific units to attain the FSK20119 Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways. Students achieving at least one unit of competency will be eligible for an AQF Statement of Attainment showing partial completion of their qualification.

ASSESSMENT:

This course is competency based and the student's performance is assessed against prescribed industry standards. Assessment methods may include:

Observation
Student Demonstration
Questioning
Structured Activities

FURTHER STUDY:

This course provides students with foundation skills to explore qualifications in industry's areas that they would like to pursue

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:

In this course, students are required to be keen to develop their language, literacy and numeracy skills, and also take a considered approach to career planning and further vocational pathways they would like to pursue.

Completion of the Certificate II in the Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways, provides students with :

skills required to enter or succeed in the workforce
skills require to enter to succeed in further vocational training
development of core language, literacy an numeracy skills
apply knowledge & understand of safety in the workplace

a plan for career for further study
