At Marian Catholic College, Stage 6 students are required to undertake the study of one Religious Education course. Students must choose ONE of Studies of Religion I, Studies of Religion II or Studies in Catholic Thought. Studies in Catholic Thought is a one unit non-ATAR course.

Studies in Catholic Thought (non ATAR)
Studies of Religion 1 unit (ATAR)
Studies of Religion 2 unit ( ATAR)
Studies in Catholic Thought is suited to students who:
Do not wish to go to university;
Want to learn more about their Catholic faith
Enjoy working as part of a group;
Want to use a variety of methods to complete tasks (video creation, blogging etc);
1 Unit - 2 Lessons a Week
Suited to students who:
Want to take an extension subject (maths, english, history);
Wish to go to university;
Enjoy working primarily as individuals;
Have an interest in studying Christianity and Islam;
Are extremely self motivated and understand that the majority of work will be completed outside of the classroom;
Are confident readers and writers;
1 Unit - 2 Lessons a Week
Suited to students who:
Wish to go to university;
Enjoy working as individuals and in groups;
Have an interest in studying Christianity, Islam and Judaism;
Are self motivated and understand that a large amount of work will be completed outside of the classroom;
Are confident readers
Are confident in structuring and writing short answer responses and essays
Can sustain writing for 3 hours.
