My name is Erika, I'm full Cuban. I was born and raised in Holguin, Cuba till I was 10. I joined Latinos in Action this year as a senior and I wish I would've joined early because it's such a wonderful class and you learn so much about other cultures and people. What we do
What we do
The purpose of our social community is to bring unity to our LIA class. Unity means getting to know each other more personally since we are famiLIA. Not only this but also to build strong friendships amongst our peers and community. This is why every Friday we have planned different activities for the whole class so that we get to engage at least once a week with different people in LIA. We also do this to have no bad blood within each other but instead have each other's back. Engaging socially also allows us to learn more about one another, and learning more about other's backgrounds. Learning more about each other's backgrounds allows us to be more inclusive and equitable with those around us.
