Nearpod
Nearpod is a student engagement online platform with interactive K-12 lessons that merges formative assessment and dynamic media for collaborative learning experiences. A teacher may create presentations that contain Quizzes, Polls, Videos, Images, Drawing-Boards, Web Content, and more. Then, assign student-paced, front of class, or live participation lessons anytime, anywhere.
The district is not purchasing Nearpod for all teachers. The Multicultural Department, however, has purchased licenses for teachers attached to ELL students in SIS.
This webinar includes how to access your account, hands-on experience with a teacher-paced lesson to see the different components of Nearpod, how to search the lesson library, share with students, view results, and strategies to use Nearpod.
Getting Started with Nearpod
Nearpod can help teachers engage students and get instant insights into learning.
Nearpod offers free (silver) accounts to all teachers. To view the features of the free (silver) plan, please click on the Nearpod Pricing Guide. Then, click on the little question mark next to Essential to view the list of free features.
Sign up for a free (silver) account here.
To access, log into the district portal at www.mysdpbc.org.
Teachers who are attached to ELL students in SIS will click on the "Nearpod for ELL's" tile. These teachers will be automatically signed in via Clever.
Teachers who are not attached to ELL students in SIS will click on the "Nearpod" tile. Then, select "Sign in with Clever." Teachers should be automatically logged in. If a teacher has never used Nearpod before, he/she may be prompted to create a free (silver) account.

What Nearpod License Type Do You Have?
To determine your Nearpod license type, click the avatar in the top right corner.
The Nearpod license type will be displayed.
Those with the upgraded license
(ELL teachers) will have Premium
Plus.

For Silver (free) or Gold licenses, Nearpod has several features within their platform to ensure that using the platform with students is secure. Here are best practices when utilizing Nearpod.
