Khanmigo Writing Coach Now Live in the Khan Academy Platform

The new Khanmigo Writing Coach is live on the Khan Academy Platform. The new “Writing Coach” Khanmigo Learner Activity expands upon and replaces the “Academic Essay Feedback” Learner Activity for students. 

Writing Coach breaks up a student’s writing process into key stages: understanding the assignment, outlining, drafting, and revising—without the AI doing any writing for them. Currently, the tool provides specific, immediate, actionable feedback in the following areas: Introduction, Evidence & Reasoning, Structure, Style & Tone, and Conclusion. Students can view highlighted feedback areas, ask clarifying questions, make revisions, and ask for further review. Teachers can see how students progress through the essay writing process, where students get stuck and ask Khanmigo for help, and originality flags to identify potential concerns about academic integrity.
