Year 3 & 4 have made such fantastic progress in their writing this year - they just had to show their fabulous stories off to Year 1 & 2.
Children took their published writing up to the younger years and read them their stories full of suspense. It was such a wonderful experience for both the Year 3 & 4 children who could see the purpose to their writing, a captive audience hanging on their every word, but also to the younger years who could aspire to be as dedicated as their older siblings and friends.
This term children have enjoyed learning all about the Battle of Hastings and 1066.
First, children learned all about the different reasons for the Battle. Children learned about Harold Godwinson and William of Normandy and their armies.
Children then explored what happened on the lead up to the Battle and how the different armies prepared for the Battle.
Throughout their learning children were using historical clues to guide their thinking, the Bayeux Tapestry was particularly important when finding clues about the Battle of Hastings.
Finally, the children used evidence to discover who was Victorious.
Forest School
Dolphins had forest school this term and absolutely loved it! They made pendants, cooked around the fire and played in the mud kitchen. Forest school is a great opportunity for all our pupils to explore and allows them to build up their resilience and perserverance.
This term all three classes filled their reward jars!
Beluga class enjoyed a class disco with popcorn and cookies! They cooled down from all their dancing with a film and quiet games. The children worked incredibly hard to earn their treat and are already so close to reaching another full jar!
Dolphin class loved wearing their own clothes, bringing in their teddies and settling down for a film in the afternoon!
