Partnerships

UC Master Gardeners tending to plant seedlings as part of the Seed & Start program.

Partnerships are a key ingredient in the success of environment, food, and garden programs in OUSD!

All EFG Programming and most staffing is grant funded through partnerships with Alameda County Public Health Department, California Department of Food and Agriculture, City of Oakland Sugar-Sweetened Beverage Tax, USDA Farm to School and other philanthropic agencies.

Key Partners include FoodCorps, Sustainability Service Corps (BACR), UC Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners, Trust for Public Land, the Center for Eco-Literacy, Merritt College, and Alameda County Community Food Bank.

All community organizations that provide direct services to school sites must follow OUSD partnership procedures and have legal agreement in place. See this page for more details on the process.
