Summer Garden Stewards
In support of OUSD’s commitment to serve the whole child and the OUSD Board-Approved Wellness Policy, Living Schoolyard Policy, and Vegetation Policy, the Summer Garden Steward (SGS) Program supports school sites to maintain school gardens and increase access to healthy food.
En apoyo del compromiso de OUSD de servir al niño en su totalidad y la Política de Bienestar aprobada por la Junta de OUSD, la Política de Living Schoolyard y la Política de Vegetación, el Programa Summer Garden Steward (SGS) apoya a las escuelas para mantener los jardines escolares y aumentar el acceso a alimentos saludables.
All Summer Garden Stewards (SGS) agree to do work related to all of these areas for 4 hours per week between May 28th and August 2nd / Todos los administradores de jardines de verano (SGS) aceptan realizar trabajos relacionados con todas estas áreas durante 4 horas por semana entre el 28 de mayo y el 2 de agosto.
Summer Planting / Siembra de Verano
Stewardship (irrigation, weeding, and trash + debris pick-up) / Administración (irrigación, deshierbe y basura + recolección de escombros)
Harvesting and Food Distribution / Recolección y Distribución de Alimentos.
Preparing the garden for the beginning of the school year and a return to learning in August / PPreparando el huerto para el inicio del curso escolar y la vuelta al aprendizaje en agosto
Promote Summer EFG Learning in the Garden (if applicable) / Promover el aprendizaje EFG de verano en el jardín (si corresponde)

Share the produce with your school community! Remember to tag produce with what it is/variety, garden of origin, and date harvested.
If you need a place to share more: Bring it to The Center's Market stand - Market off West (Bring your produce to The Center Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm between June 3 and June 27).
The Market Off West opens June 4th - June 27th on Monday through Wednesday.
Market Off West is run by our 3 high school Market interns with mentorship by District EFG FoodCorps Member, Char Potes, and Sustainability Service Corps Fellow, Julia Hanson
All produce must be tagged with produce/variety name, its garden of origin and the date harvested!
