New Teacher Institute (NTI) 2025

Goals: All new teachers will...

• Know how to access the resources & supports available to them

• Engage in foundational professional learning on classroom culture building and content & curriculum 

• Reflect and plan for creating equitable, rigorous & joyful classrooms

Feedback: On average, participants rated both their overall experience at NTI and the NTI workshops as a 9/10 and 98% are likely to apply their learnings to their practice.

Attendance: We had ~215 teachers participate in our 2025 NTI, with roughly 100 who are entering their first year of teaching. Here is the NTI registration list. We will provide the updated attendance list soon.

Compensation: Teachers who have signed their contracts by 8/6/25 could choose to be compensated at either the extended contract rate ($47.50/hr) or with Professional Growth Units (PGU’s), which can be applied towards advancement on the salary scale. Teachers who sign their contract after 8/6/25 will receive Professional Growth Units (PGU’s). Therefore, teachers can either earn up to $1,543.75 or 2 PGUs for engagement in the full 32.5 hours of PD throughout the week.
