When we exercise this impacts our bodies in many different ways.
Some technical terms that we can use and understand to help us.
Heart:
Heart Rate - how many times your heart beats per minute
Resting Heart Rate - How many times your heart beats per minute without doing any exercise
Maximum Heart Rate - The fastest your heart can beat during exercise
Target Heart Rate Zone - the range of heart beats per minute you aim for during exercise to get the most out of your workout
Stroke Volume - The amount of blood pumped with one beat
Blood Pressure - the force of blood pushing against your artery walls
Lungs:
Tidal Volume - the amount of air you breathe in or out normally
VO2 Max - maximum amount of oxygen your body can use during intense exercise
Breathing Rate - How many breaths you take per minute
Muscles:
Fast Twitch fibres - muscle fibres which contract quickly and are used for short bursts of intense activity
Slow Twitch fibres - muscle fibres which contract slowly and are used more for endurance activities
