Throughout my high school years, I have taken a variety of personal and professional pictures including photos at sporting events, community celebrations, production days, and more. Through these experiences, I have grown a love for photography. Below are some of the photographs I have taken that I am most proud of.
One of the events I photograph often are the soccer games for the OHS boys soccer team. I photograph this team not only at their home field, unofficially named "The Jug", but have also traveled to other school's in Mississippi on game days to take pictures of this team. Having to capture action shots of a fast-paced sport has taught me the importance of concentration, precision, and patience. I love being able to photograph this team and capture their dedication, skill, and joy in a single photo. To the left are a few of my favorite pictures that I have taken at both home and away games for the Oxford High School boys soccer team.
Over the past school year, I had the opportunity to photograph once-in-a-lifetime events. In August of 2024, I was able to interview and photograph Olympic athlete Sam Kendricks at a community event that celebrated his achievements at his training center, RTC (pictured at the top and bottom right). In October of 2024, I photographed Mason Ramsey, a young and vibrant country singer, at a meet-and-greet in the Alpha Delta Pi sorority at the University of Mississippi (pictured on the top and bottom left). To the right are some of my favorite pictures I was able to take at both of these events.
As a part of the Charger Media Group, I also photograph production days for various sports team at Oxford High School. Production days not only make the athletes feel more confident in their uniforms, but provide The Charger with ample amount of pictures to include next to our stories about a sport, and give the Charger Media Group plenty of photographs to use to create game day posters for each sport. Working with other photographers and with athletes on production days has taught me the importance of teamwork, management, and organization. To the left are some of my favorite pictures I took at both boys and girls soccer media day.
Every year, Oxford High School has a powderpuff game for grades 9-12 to participate in. This past year, the games were held during homecoming week. For that issue of the newspaper I was in charge of creating a homecoming-themed double truck for The Charger (pictured on the "Design & Editing" page) and gained sideline access to all three powderpuff games to photograph them. To the right are some of my favorite action shots that I took.
