Throughout the three years that I have been a part of newspaper, I have attended the MSPA Statewide Spring High School Journalism Convention twice. At this convention I get the opportunity to attend classes taught by professors, journalists, and other high schoolers. Every year this convention teaches me so much about all areas of journalism. I make it my priority as a journalist and as a leader in the journalism department of my school to ensure I know how to find credible sources, analyze work, and above all follow all AP style guidelines. I go to great lengths to educate myself on these topics, and also to teach my staff about them as well. Similarly to how I have given a presentation on proper interview etiquette to my staff, I have also given presentations on basic newspaper knowledge, AP style, and more. Below is one of those presentations.
