As editor-in-chief, I have worked to handle all of our ad dealings alongside my associate editors. The funding we receive from advertisements goes directly into our program and is used to publish our print paper every month. We have worked together to make sure that we keep our ad contracts up to date each year. At the beginning of each school year we sell ads to different business around the Oxford community such as Shaw Ace Hardware, Malco, Proud Larry's, Daisy Gift Co., and more. As of the 2024-2025 school year I received permission from some of our sponsors to redesign their ads in order to make them more eye-grabbing and cohesive with the print paper.
Ads
The two ads below are the half page ad that we use for Shaw Ace Hardware (top) and the quarter page ad that we use for Lulu's in our newspaper (bottom). In addition to these two, we have four other quarter page ads, another half page ad, and a full page ad on our back cover. The Lulu's ad pictured below is one of the ads that I redesigned in the past year.
Ad Contracts
This is a blank example of one of our ad contracts. The companies are provided different options for how often they will be billed, the size of their ad, and how many months they would like their ad to run for.
My work for The Charger often requires me to leave my high school campus during and/or work outside of school. This map shows all of the places that we distribute our paper edition every month. It is also posted on our newspaper's Instagram account frequently so that our readers know where to find it.
