Statement of Inquiry: It is necessary to ask questions and understand answers in order to go shopping.

Competencies

(1)  Communication: I am aware of the different formats of communication and can express myself in different ways

(2) Collaboration: I can work with other members of my group to make sure our collaborative process is as effective as possible

  Assessment

1) Reading Test: students read a dialogue between a shop assistant and a customer in Japan on their own laptops while answering multiple choice comprehension questions. Students are marked on demonstration of reading comprehension.

2) Speaking Test: students work in small groups to produce a shopping video. Video length - 1 to 2 minutes. Students are marked on pronunciation and content.
