Statement of Inquiry: To creatively present structured information about cooking it is necessary to use appropriate commands and vocabulary.

Assessment

1) Reading Test: students view a Japanese recipe with pictures on their own laptops while answering multiple choice comprehension questions. Students are marked on demonstration of reading comprehension.

2) Speaking Test: students work individually to produce a cooking demonstration in Japanese. Students are encouraged to choose a dish/drink/snack from Japan to prepare. Students are given a three-part structure to follow when making the video. Video length - 1 to 2 minutes. Students are marked on pronunciation and content.
