Monica Samaniego, 6th Grade
Ramona Communication Arts Academy
Spotlight: Kagan Structures, Classroom Management/PBIS, ELA Instruction, Eureka Math
Hi! I'm Monica Samaniego, a 6th grade teacher who believes that strong relationships are the heart of a thriving classroom. I take time to get to know each of my students because I know that when they feel seen, heard, and valued, they’re more willing to take risks and grow.
I taught 3rd grade for two years and now going into my third year teaching 6th. My classroom is a supportive, structured space where students are encouraged to try, fail, and try again. I believe in holding high expectations while also showing warmth, patience, and care. I want every student to know I believe in them, even on the hard days.
I’m passionate about promoting a growth mindset, helping students understand that learning takes effort, and mistakes are part of the process. I also use Kagan cooperative learning strategies to get kids talking, thinking, and learning together. Peer collaboration not only builds academic skills but also confidence and community.
Every day, my goal is to help students grow—not just as learners, but as people. I love being part of their journey and watching them discover what they’re capable of.
I'm very excited to be a Spotlight Teacher this school year!
