I am so excited you stopped by to learn more about me, my teaching style, my educational philosophy, and the passion I have for helping children learn and grow.

About Me

I have had the privilege of teaching in the Ontario-Montclair School District for the past 26 years, all of which have been at Kingsley Elementary School. Throughout my career, I have taught 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 6th grades, and I am thrilled to be teaching 5th grade again this year.

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies from California State University, San Bernardino, and went on to receive both my Teaching Credential and Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Redlands.

Teaching has always been my passion. I strive to inspire young minds academically, socially, and emotionally by teaching the whole child. My goal is to create a classroom where every student feels safe, valued, and confident in their abilities. I believe that when students feel loved, supported, and challenged, they develop the confidence to take ownership of their learning and become successful both in school and in life.

When I think about education, the phrase “Growth Mindset” always comes to mind. I believe that learning is a lifelong journey—for both students and teachers. We should always be willing to try new ideas, embrace challenges, learn from our experiences, and continually grow. This philosophy guides my teaching each and every day as I strive to provide meaningful, engaging, and enriching learning experiences for all of my students.

For the past five years, I have had the honor of serving as a Spotlight Teacher, a role that has allowed me to showcase exemplary instructional practices for educators throughout the district. My classroom has become a dynamic learning environment where teachers can observe innovative teaching strategies in action, collaborate with colleagues, and gain ideas to enhance their own instruction. This experience has not only strengthened my own professional growth but has also allowed me to contribute to the growth and success of fellow educators. It has been an incredibly rewarding opportunity and one that continues to inspire me as both a teacher and a lifelong learner.
