With 28 years of experience in teaching preschool, including 24 years dedicated to OMSD, I am deeply committed to nurturing the social-emotional development of my students while laying a strong foundation for their academic success. My passion lies in creating a learning environment where every child feels supported and encouraged to grow.

My educational strengths encompass conflict resolution strategies, early literacy, and the Preschool Learning Foundations across all content areas. I also have a strong focus on AVID and fostering parent involvement. My instructional approach is aligned with our school's emphasis on Inquiry and Play-Based Instruction, and I am dedicated to helping my students develop the interdisciplinary skills that will serve them well in both academic pursuits and lifelong learning.

In my classroom, I incorporate Kagan strategies to enhance communication skills, ensuring that my students are not only learning but also expressing themselves confidently. A unique feature of our learning environment is the integration of outdoor learning experiences, supported by our five distinct school gardens. I have been fortunate to secure several grants, including the Big Green Jumpstart Grant, CTA grant, Whole Foods Grant, and Stater Bros. grant, all of which have enriched our garden programs. We also collaborate closely with the nearby community garden, Huerta del Valle, to extend learning beyond the classroom.
