Student Attendance Expectations
Students are responsible for the proper use and care of school property such as textbooks, library books, desks, uniforms, electronics and equipment. The parent or guardian of a student is responsible for the replacement or repair of damaged school property when it is determined that the damage was committed by the student as a result of the student’s negligence. School officials may conduct regular or random searches of desks and lockers and their contents at any time for reasons of health or safety. See OKCPS OKCPS Board Policy F-24 for more information.
The vision is that every student has a digital learning device in order that they may learn more than what is provided between the two covers of a textbook, learn more than beyond the four walls of a classroom, and have extended learning opportunities beyond the 6-hour school day. As part of empowerOKCPS, all students will have access to a mobile device for use at school. Secondary students will be assigned a mobile device for use at school and at home. Guidelines, instructions, and procedures have been provided to help schools in successfully implementing 1:1 digital learning environments. See the Oklahoma City Public Schools Student/Parent Guide for support and resources for use of your student’s issued device.
