Allan Murry Minard was born on January 9th 1913. Minard's present address is located at 154 Pretoria Ave Ottawa, Ont. Minard was a 5’11 man with hazel brown eyes, he weighed about 180 pounds and was in great health. Minard had a mom and dad, whose names were Duncan McRae Minard and Stella Lee Allan Minard. Minards dad was a retired civil servant, and Minard's mother did not have a job. Minard also had a wife whose name was Marjory Frances Minard. Minard also had a couple of siblings. He had one brother and one sister whose names were Guy McRae and Ruth Cameron Minard.Minard was a wonderful person with a great personality, many people described him as a courageous and bright man.
Allan Minard enlisted in 1944 while working as a mechanic in Ottawa. He and others in the Royal Canadian Air Force left on february fourteenth, 1994, to Britain. Minards medical officer noted that he and his wife had decided that he would be happier in service, flying. He was bright, steady, and courageous.
Minard went on many expeditions and may have been promoted several times.
He never was injured in battle and many officers and medical professionals called him above average in everything he did. Allan Murray was one of the military's best, in his many adventures he lifted up everybody around him. He had a happy home life and a blossoming military career.
Allan Minard sadly passed away on Tuesday April 25 1944, at the young age of 31. Minard was killed overseas on active service. Minard’s aircraft took off from Satellite, Moreton Valence on a navigational training exercise. As far as is known, Minard’s aircraft was flying with navigation lights when it was shot down by cannons and machine gun, over Godmanchester, Huntingdonshire. The sad news was received by Minard’s wife on friday of april, three days after Minard was killed. Minard was buried at Brookwood Military Cemetery In the United Kingdom. On his grave there was additional information that read “ son of Duncan McRae Minard and Stella Lee Allan Minard, of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; husband of Marjory Frances Minard (nee Bratton), of Ottawa.” Minard also had a personal inscription that read “They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn”. Although Minard 's wife knew about his death, she was not invited to the burial ceremony, due to the time crunch, because of the war. Minards wife did get a letter saying that the burial happened without her. Allan Murry Minard had a great life, and he did great things for his country. Even though he is gone, he will still be remembered by many.
