Step back in time with Glebe Collegiate Institute's Digital Archive
This dynamic, student-run project is bringing nearly a century of Glebe history to your fingertips. Since our school's founding in 1923, a remarkable collection of artifacts has been amassed, and now, Grade 10 History students are working to safeguard these treasures for future generations through careful digitization.
Our current focus delves into the 1930s, a period intimately connected to our "Walking Them Home" remembrance project. This powerful initiative honors the Glebe Collegiate students who tragically lost their lives in World War II, and this archive aims to enrich that tribute by providing historical context and tangible connections to their time at Glebe. This is a truly collaborative endeavor, with Semester 1 students engaging in the poignant work of "Walking Them Home" and Semester 2 students contributing their skills to the meticulous digitization of our school's past.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Marco Paladino from B< and Professor Jo McCutcheon for generously sharing their expertise and making this ambitious project possible.
