Permission Requests for Course Registration – Spring 2026

If you encounter an error when attempting to register for a course, you may need departmental permission to enroll. This is not the same as cross-registration.

You might require permission if:

• You previously waived a prerequisite for the course

• You are attempting to register for certain courses that always require permission

Common Scenarios:

• IE students registering for MG-GY courses may receive an error and require permission.

• MOT students registering for IE-GY or MN-GY courses may also encounter the same issue.

In these cases, you will need to complete the Permission Request Form to proceed with registration.

Students are strongly encouraged to submit permission requests before registration opens to avoid delays or enrollment issues.

Registering for Business Analytics (MG-GY 6193)

All students must request permission to register for Business Analytics. This requirement helps ensure a fair and smooth registration process due to high demand.

• Requests must be submitted by Friday, November 14 at 3:00 PM (ET)

• All requests received by this deadline will be reviewed prior to the registration opening on Monday, November 17.

MOT Students Only: Registering for Capstone Project Course (MG-GY 9503)

MOT students planning to take the Capstone course in Spring 2026 must submit a separate permission request.
