Checking for Enrollment Holds

We strongly recommended that you check your “registration status” prior to registration, which will indicate if you have a “hold” on your account, which would prevent you from registering.  Here are directions on how to check your status:

• Log into Albert through your home.nyu.edu account

• Under “Student Center” choose “Check Registration Status”

• Also check the “Holds” and “To Do List” boxes on the right hand side of your Student Center.  These boxes will let you know if there is a hold on your record and what you need to do to fix it.  Most holds I cannot look into or lift for you, so please use the contact they suggest in your Student Center.

Common Enrollment Holds:

• Advisor Clearance Hold (XAC): You need to meet with your advisor to discuss your schedule before you can register.

• Missing Credentials Holds (RMC/RHS): The Registrar's Office is missing proof of your high school or college graduation. Send your official transcript to academic.records@nyu.edu. Until this hold is removed, you are not able to add classes, but can drop classes.

• Have not completed Sexual Misconduct Tutorial (XZ4): Students must complete the Sexual Misconduct Training to be able to register.

• Past due balance: Contact the Bursar's Office. 

Please note that the advisement office is unable to remove enrollment holds placed by other NYU Departments. As such, please contact the appropriate department.
